RARE W. S. George Fleurette 175A Vintage Porcelain 1940-44 Floral Dessert Plate. Pink, lemon, and violet wild flowers bending over a fence-line adorn this high floral motif edge relief dessert plate. Nice cream ground with patina and all over crazing, no chips. Measures 6 3/4 x 5/8".William Shaw George purchased the controlling interest in the East Palestine Pottery Company from the Sebring brothers in 1904, renaming the company The W. S. George Pottery Company. In 1910 the company opened a manufacturing facility in Canonsburg, PA; closed doors in 1959.
Lovely representation of W.S. George Pottery that was a huge influence in porcelain manufacturing in the U.S.
